The HE-R10D are dynamic on-ear headphones from HiFiMAN, which use Topology Diaphragm technology. Topology Diaphragm refers to a membrane on the surface of which a special nanoparticle coating has been applied. The result is a natural and detailed sound. The idea was inspired by Dr. Fang Bian's doctoral dissertation. In his work, he points out that "different nanomaterials have different structures and each of these materials has its own properties". Therefore, by carefully controlling the surface structure of the membrane, different results in terms of acoustic parameters, unattainable before, can be achieved.

This model has large pine wood earmuffs that increase the sound capabilities of the headphones. The large internal space of the wooden shell provides sufficient volume and "breath" to the drivers. The headphone pads are made of natural suede and high-quality memory foam. The frame of the headband is made of solid steel.

In terms of packaging and overall design, the HE-R10D is almost identical to the HE-R10P.
